Machined from solid Steel, our steering extenders are top quality and a great, easy Bolt-on fit supplied with correctly graded M12 fixings.
Steering extenders allow the track rods to move further back in the car and the Pitman arm to be effectively 'extended', giving around a 10% faster steering response - hence the common name "Quick Steer Kit". In some circumstances this part can eliminate any problems caused by track rods hitting the fuel tank and correct Ackerman angle/toe out on turns problems.
Strongly recommended for narrow setups in 6” or greater.
Standard equipment with our front air ride system, this part can also be used to allow track rod clearance on custom shocks or air struts - helping to retain full steering angle.
Straight fit for '68- T1/Bug, earlier pitman arms require the TRE mount holes to be drilled out to 12mm from 10mm to fit. Rearmost holes on the item are tapered to fit late (‘68-) 12mm TRE's perfectly.
