Complete air suspension install packages. Designed, Fabricated, Installed and precisely set up - all under one roof at our Midlands, UK workshop.

Let us deal with the transformation of your ride. Whether you're starting with a bone stocker, already lowered car, or something with faulty/malfunctioning air suspension -  we can remove the existing setup in full and install our Premium Bolt-In kits, delivering a safe, reliable system that will deliver the drive, lows and practicality you need. Since we build the kits here and install them every week, we know every intricacy of their installation, and how to set them up for the best possible driving dynamics and longevity.

No one does it like us, and we install air suspension packages on more aircooled VW's than anyone else in the world!

This listing is for an example cost of complete EvaResto Premium complete Air Suspension installation, completed on a pre 1969 Type 3 Squareback, Notchback or Fastback with a Swing-Axle type rear end.

Specification of 4" Narrowed beam, Disc Drop spindles, 'Floater' install base, Manual 4-way management kit with 444c compressor and Polished aluminium tank. Paddle/Gauge mount panel included.
Included in this price are the extra 'T1 Conversion' parts needed to complete the front suspension, including T1 trailing arms, Caster/camber adjustment nuts and replacement Pitman Arm. If your car already has a T1 conversion fitted, these parts will not be needed outright and the price will be lower!

All pictures used are cars we have personally fully installed, and use our components only.

Our installations are available with some options. From obvious things like beam narrow size, powdercoat colour which can be customised, air ride management type, 'floater' install base configuration and more... Giving you the option to 'spec up' your dream install.

An EvaResto Premium installation replaces around 95% of existing suspension parts, so is ideal to replace an old, worn out or poorly excecuted system.
Sometimes extra 'completion' parts are needed, if some of the remaining parts are not fit to be re-used. Wear parts like Spring plate bushings, steering couplings and track rod ends are usually re-used, but will be replaced if deemed to be not fit for re-use.

Looking for the ultimate in drive in, drive out air suspension installation? Look no further. Let our fully equipped workshop take care of your pride & Joy, and allow you the pleasure of hitting the road with a fully sorted suspension system - ready to start racking up miles.

Price given is an example average install cost, and covers the full kit, install fee and comprehensive set up.

FAQ:

How long does this take?
On average, we book around a month in advance. The deposit fee allows us to pre-build some parts if we're able to, which allows the process once the car is in with us to run as smoothly as possible. An average install will take 2-3 weeks, but can be done faster if the car is required for a certain date.

What does the car drive like afterwards?
Cars set up on our full Premium air suspension set up correctly are smooth, dynamic feeling and handle well. Nothing will ever ride softer than a stock setup, but when you're riding lower to the ground it's far better to control the suspension movement, body roll and dampening rate a little more - as this leads to better road holding and driving characteristics. This would be with the suspension at 'ride height' which is typically around 75% of available lift. Driving towards the top end of the available lift will make the car ride firmer, and towards the bottom will of course mean that the ground clearance
is compromised. Driving low is absolutely fine! However extra care should be taken when doing so.

I want to carry extra passengers/luggage, is the system good for that?
Absolutely! The main strength of air suspension is its ability to carry a range of loads without effecting adversely how the car performs or handles. That's why big trucks + trailers have it, as the weight carrying capacity and stability of air springs is hard to match.
Extra passengers or luggage on board just require a bit more pressure. For yourself, a passenger, and a weekends worth of camping gear (tent, cool box, bags etc) you'd be looking at increasing the pressure around 10-20% to account for the extra load, over just having yourself (the driver) on board.
Say goodbye to your car riding at the right height with just you in it, and hitting the floor with you + a passenger!

I want the highest performing system available as my car is fast and I drive hard, can you help?
Yes, absolutely! Our 'standard' hardware delivers a great compromise between ride quality and roadholding. If a stiffer and more focused setup is wanted, we have a SPAX adjustable version of our front and rear shocks, can utilise our 'super' rose-jointed spring plates and make other modifications if wanted - giving a firmer but more precise setup if wanted.

I'm unsure of what Wheels/Tyres I want or can run, can you help?
Of course. We have great experience fitting all sorts of wheels on Aircooled VW's, and can help with supplying the right tyres, spacers/adapters or hubs and wheel bolts/studs. We supply, fit & balance a full range from Nankang, who are our trusted tyre brand.

How safe is this system?
Installed correctly, any high-quality air suspension system will be as safe as regular springs + shocks. Our installs are taken out with utmost care and lines, electricals and other vital components are ran safely, clipped securely and utilise grommets/anti chafing provisions where necessary. Proper clearance is ensured on all moving rubber and mechanical parts.
An EvaResto Premium Air Suspension install is safe, approved and if not abused, will last a lifetime with the right maintenance.

Is the kit up to UK MOT standards?
Absolutely. Everything in our premium kits is designed to be fully road legal in the UK. There should be no problem at all come MOT time should you take your car for an annual test.

Is there any/much maintenance?
The kits we build are designed to be as low-maintenance as possible, but do recommend that common sense is used and the running gear of your (generally) 50+ year old classic car is checked periodically. The only maintenance needed for the kit itself is to ensure the air tank & system are kept free of excess moisture. It's recommended to drain the excess moisture from the tank via the Schrader/fill valve every 6 months or so.
If the car is used often, around a tablespoon of water can be expected to purge.
This ensures as little moisture as possible enters the air bags/shocks which helps prevent internal corrosion and extend the life of components.

How much drop & lift can I expect?
Generally the drop allowed by one of our kits is enough to allow the car to lay out completely (tyre size dependent!), check the pics for examples. Lift is around 4.5" up front and 6" rear. This is plenty to clear speed bumps, rough roads or awkward driveways!

What management systems do you recommend?
So, our go-to is manual 4-way. This is the lowest cost system, but conveniently the nicest to use (in our opinion!).
The manual 4-way is a fast, easy to use, extremely reliable and long-lasting management system. You can't go wrong with it.
We also fit Airlift Digital type managements (3P or ALP4) if wanted, but do find that these are much fussier to use, can have reliability problems, and are much, MUCH more expensive!
Do I need 12v Electrics to run the system? And an Alternator?
First off, yes, a 12v electrical system is needed to run the air management system. This of course is standard for all 1968 and onwards cars, but earlier cars will need to be converted.
An alternator is a good idea, as will keep the battery topped up more efficiently, but a dynamo system in good condition will be up to the job still as long as the battery is in good condition. A standard 063 style battery is fine, there's no need for any upgrade here.

Do I need single or twin compressors?
We use only Viair 444c compressors, as these are a great quality all-rounder. A single compressor system is absolutely fine and will 'recharge' the system after a full lift in under 2 minutes.
A twin compressor system cuts down on that time greatly, looks good under the bonnet (symmetry matters!), and generally gives the compressor(s) a longer lifespan, since both are working half as hard, and don't get hot under regular use.
When installing twin compressors, we utilise a heavy duty Durite 100a relay, high capacity cable and other uprated components.
Twin compressors have become a popular upgrade, but aren't ever a necessity.

Do you install Air Suspension kits from other suppliers?
Absolutely not. We do not install or repair systems from other manufacturers - only replace them when they go wrong.

Is there a warranty on the install?
Yes, we offer 1 year or 5,000 mile (whichever first) warranty on all EvaResto manufactured & installed components. This covers you, should you have any leaks or other issues after getting your car back from us. Providing of course that the install or components fitted by us have not been tampered with or damaged/mis-used.
Any issues that arise after that period will be considered for warranty cover if it is deemed that the problem is down to improper install or manufacturing.
We look after our customers as best we can!

I have an Aircooled VW that isn't on your list, can you help?
Generally, anything Type 1 or Type 3 based we will work on and can install air suspension on! We've done a handful of weird/rare VW's including Trekkers, Brazilian models such as SP2's and Brasilia's, Kit cars, Speedster replica's and more.
We do not offer any services for T2 van/bus however, that's not our speciality!

What happens with my old parts?
You get them back in full, meaning you can sell on any re-useable components and recoup some costs.

If you have any more questions about this service, please don't hesitate to get in contact!
