This kit contains a Type 1 conversion beam, so must be used with the necessary Type 1 parts required for installation. Parts needed are as follows: Trailing arms, Spindles, brake kit (in some cases, your Type 3 callipers can be re-used) and hardware. We can supply these if wanted, to make a full conversion package.

A huge upgrade over just bolt-on air shocks, this full conversion kit is designed from scratch to give killer lows, awesome range, great performance and great driveability.
So, what makes our premium system? Custom built-for-specification Type 1 Conversion Air Suspension Beam in Stock width, 2" & 4" Narrowed, Torsion bar delete (freeroll) Rods, our excellent AirSleeve Shocks, Correct length steering rods and long travel ball joints as standard.
Our Beams are hugely popular and street-proven on some of the best looking cars in the Aircooled scene. The beam featured in this kit is very much the same, but designed to work with our AirSleeve Shocks in perfect harmony. When coupled with the long travel joints, framehead on floor action is easily obtainable with the right wheel and tyre setup. Our own invention Raise-Tube Castor-corrected Type 1 conversion beam makes this possible and corrects the geometry of your new setup, meaning no hang ups on the ball joints before your car is allowed to sit down where it should. Real lows require the pro’s!
Lifting is easy, and our Bag Shocks make easy work of the task in hand, no matter how much you're carrying under the bonnet. 5" of range from fully compressed to extended makes for more clearance than you'll ever need for the lowest and most vulnerable part of the car - the Framehead and Floorpans.
Custom steering gear helps give full steering angle and lock, with no clearance issues or compromise. A full lock-to-lock turning circle can still be achieved.
Requires 2.5" drop spindles to give maximum lows. These can be added in the drop-down box menu, as most people already have them on their cars before fitting air, they're not specified in the 'stock' kit :).

No Body Mods Towers - These are as it states, a no body cutting required solution. A great option for those who's classic German steel is sacred! This Setup will give a good dropped height, with around a 1" clearance from chassis to floor fully aired out. If you're after full ground laying lows, the next two options are for you.
Full Length Towers (Tub Required) - These are the same length towers which we fit to our Beetle Air Ride beams, and require a slight cut into the inner wing of the car for fitment. If you're tubbing your Type 3 anyway (like we always do), then it's no problem. This setup will offer the full range of suspension drop, giving fully chassis laid air-outs and good lifted height. Like the cars pictured.
XL Towers & XL Performance adjustable shocks (Tub Required) - This is the best setup available, and the one we've fitted on the 4x fully laid Type3's we've built before. Big tubs are great for wheel clearance when rolling low, so make up for all that room with the largest towers and air shocks we supply. These particular shocks are Airlift's own, and 9-click damping adjustable - to allow for your perfect ride to be dialled in. Expect fully laid lows, and 7" of lift!
